AI marks. You decide.

AI grades each answer against your rubric and suggests a mark for your review. Students see AI-generated grades only after a teacher or another authorised reviewer has reviewed, approved and published them.

Every answer graded against your rubric.

The AI reads each answer on its own, with the criteria you attached to that question. It marks to your standards and to the marks you set for each criterion.

Against your rubric

Your rubric defines the grading criteria, performance standards and marks assigned to each criterion.

A mark for every question

Each question gets its own proposed mark, so you can see where the total came from and change any part of it.

Written feedback

Every AI-marked answer comes with written comments, which you can edit or replace before the student sees them.

AGAINST YOUR ANSWER KEY

For short answers, numbers and gap-fills

Short answers are read against the answer you gave. Gap-fills and numbers that match your key, or fall within your tolerance, are marked straight away. Set the question to AI and an answer that misses the key is read by the AI, so a right answer worded differently is not marked wrong.

SIMPLE QUESTIONS COST NOTHING

Objective questions are graded instantly at no additional AI-marking cost.

Multiple choice, true or false and choose-several are marked the moment they are submitted. Gap-fills, numbers, maths and click-the-spot answers that match your key are marked the same way. Answers marked this way do not use your AI-marking allowance.

Choose the AI grading level for each question.

Switch AI marking on or off for your school or for one course. Then choose the effort for each question: none, light, standard or maximum.

WHERE YOU DECIDE, IN ORDER

  2. One courseSwitch it on or off for one course
  3. One questionChoose the level of effort
  • Turn it off entirely

A course, or a single question, can be marked entirely by hand. AI is never forced on anything.

  • Flags work that needs human review

When the AI is unsure of an answer, or finds it ambiguous or off-topic, it still suggests a mark but flags the whole paper for manual review, so you check it before anything is published.

  • Nothing is published automatically

AI marking never reaches a student on its own. A person has to approve and publish it.

  • A ceiling per course

Cap how much any one course may spend on AI marking each month, or leave it open.

You can review and change every AI-generated grade.

Change the mark on any question or on the paper as a whole, and write your own comments next to the AI's. Every change is recorded with your name and the time, and an override of the overall result records why.

  • A queue of what needs you
  • Change any mark
  • Add your own comments
  • Approve answers one by one
  • Every mark change: who and when
  • Published marks lock, and a change needs a reason

How Edova handles grading interruptions.

Marking relies on outside AI services, so every problem they can cause has a planned response. In none of them does a student see an error.

  • The AI service is unavailable

Edova moves down a list of alternatives instead of failing the marking run.

  • Your wallet runs out

Marking quietly waits. The student sees no error and no delay message.

  • You top up, or the month turns over

Marking starts again by itself once a top-up arrives or next month’s allowance does, and picks up where it stopped.

  • Marked questions are not marked again

A resumed run picks up where it stopped. A question that already has its mark is not marked, or charged, a second time.

Nobody has to remember to start it.

Handing in triggers the marking, and it happens in the background. The student is told their work is in and can carry on with something else.

  • Starts on its own, and students never wait
  • Scans and handwriting are read at hand-in, where enabled
  • Illegible work is not guessed at
  • Every run is recorded

Spend less time grading and more time teaching.

AI suggests the grades and you keep the last word: no grade reaches a student until it is published. Attach your rubric and publish. When work comes in, each written answer is waiting with a proposed mark and comments, and anything the AI was unsure of is already flagged.
