Student data, treated like it matters

Plain answers to the questions schools ask us — and the detail behind them, when your IT or data office wants it.

Your school’s data stands alone

Each school’s records are stored in their own separate database — not mixed into one big shared one. Your data can be backed up, restored or handed back to you on its own.

Locked on the way, locked where it’s kept

Everything travels encrypted between browsers and our servers, and passwords are stored scrambled — even we can’t read them.

People see only their part

A student sees their courses. A parent sees their own student. An assistant sees what their teacher allowed. Access follows the role — and our own support staff can look, but not touch.

Changes leave a trail

Grade changes, role changes and other sensitive actions are recorded with who did them and when. Months later, “what happened here?” has an answer.

Files checked before anyone opens them

Every upload is scanned for viruses before anyone can open it. Course videos stream inside the platform rather than as files to pass around — and each viewer’s copy is traceable back to them.

What the AI sees

When Edova drafts marks, it reads the student’s answer and the teacher’s marking criteria — that’s what’s sent, and that’s all. Your school chooses which AI providers are used, and can cap or switch them off per course.

How we run the platform

  • Sign-in attempts are limited, so passwords can’t be guessed by force
  • Lose a device? One message to us and it’s signed out of everything, remotely
  • Systems are watched around the clock, with logs kept for review
  • Backups run automatically, school by school

What you control

  • Who’s in your school and what each person can do
  • What each teaching assistant may see and mark
  • Parents’ access — always view-only, always only their own student
  • A copy of your grades and records, whenever you ask for one

The details live in our privacy policy and terms of service. For security questions from your data office, talk to us.

We enjoy this part. Book a demo and ask the hard questions first.
