Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Edova, you agree to these terms and to the laws that apply to you.

2. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You must notify your administrator immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Plans and payment

Your plan’s price, duration and limits will be agreed with you and confirmed in your order. Your workspace opens once your payment is recorded.

AI marking, reading scanned work and WhatsApp messages are paid from your workspace’s wallet, in its own currency. Your plan adds an allowance to the wallet each month, and what is left of it doesn’t carry over. Money you top up stays in the wallet while your workspace exists, and isn’t refunded.

If your plan ends, students and parents can’t open your courses until you renew. If a payment is still unpaid after its grace period, your workspace is frozen until it is paid: only its administrators can open it, and only to pay.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit plagiarised work or misrepresent AI-generated content as your own.
  • Attempt to bypass assessment settings, including time limits and attempt restrictions.
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorised access.
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise platform security.
  • Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate educational activities.

5. Academic Integrity

Your institution sets its academic integrity policy and handles violations in accordance with its academic conduct procedures.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Student submissions remain the intellectual property of the student, subject to institutional policies.
  • The platform software and its original content are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

7. AI-Assisted Marking

AI generates an initial grade based on the teacher’s rubric. A teacher reviews it, can change any mark, and decides when grades are published; no grade reaches a student before then. Each stage of a submission is recorded, including who changed its status and when, and every change to a mark is recorded, with the reason given for an override or for changing a published mark. Final academic decisions rest with the teacher and the institution.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.

9. Data & Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

10. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. We’ll email workspace administrators at least 14 days before a change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will show when it last changed.
