Create quizzes and assignments in one place, with grading based on your rubric.

Create timed quizzes and written assignments using the same builder. Objective questions are graded automatically when students hand in, and essays and uploads get a suggested grade from AI against your rubric.

Quizzes and assignments, built on one screen.

Write questions from scratch on the page, or pull them in from a question bank you have already built.

A quiz

Quizzes are question-based assessments that can be timed. Students answer, and most of it can be graded the moment they hand in.

  • Time limit and a hard cut-off
  • Shuffled questions and options
  • One question at a time, or the whole paper
  • Review your answers afterwards, or only the mark

An assignment

Assignments allow students to submit written work, documents, images and other files. The same builder, without the questions panel.

  • Documents, images, scans or recordings
  • Written work marked against your rubric, recordings by you
  • Choose whether to accept late submissions. Accepted late work is recorded as late in its marking history.
  • An assistant's review can be a required step
  • Rubrics
  • Marks or percentages
  • One rubric for the whole assignment
  • Place it in any module
  • Start from blank, or reuse
  • Require a second pair of eyes

Marked instantly, against your answer, or against your rubric.

Configure timing, attempts and assessment rules.

How long, what the clock does when it runs out, whether late work is accepted, and whether two students sitting next to each other see the same paper.

Neighbours get a different order

Randomise question and answer-option order. Edova does not proctor by webcam or track window switching, so keep your usual invigilation for exams.

One attempt, and it is enforced

Each student gets a single attempt at an assessment, and the product enforces it rather than trusting the setting. A timed attempt that is never handed in submits itself when the time runs out, instead of sitting open forever.

Published rubrics stay unchanged for existing submissions.

Publishing takes a frozen copy of your questions and your rubric. Edit the rubric later and work already marked keeps the basis it was marked on.

  • A frozen copy on publish
  • Nobody can change the basis of a mark
  • Republish deliberately

Students can resume their work without losing saved answers.

What a student gets while the clock runs. Saving and the countdown are automatic, and any extra time you have set is already applied.

Extra time, set once and applied without a word.

A multiplier for one student on one course covers every timed assessment in it, and is applied the moment they start. Nothing on screen tells the rest of the class.

  • Give a student longer
  • It applies everywhere on the course
  • Quiet by design
  • See who has what, and lift it
  • An assistant can manage them
  • One-off extensions too
